Christmas Sponsorship 2025

This season we are sponsoring the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society (CWAV) to support women and their children who have escaped from violent homes.

CWAV provides its families with housing, counselling, training, and anything else that is required until they are self-supporting.

Donations are distributed to clients as gift cards to allow mothers to shop for daily necessities, and at this time of year, to prepare for the Christmas season with dignity.

Preferred gift cards are from Superstore, London Drugs, and Walmart, as they have a wide variety of reasonably priced items (toys, clothes, household items, food) and the stores are on bus routes. Grocery gift cards and gas cards are always welcome.

There are several ways to contribute this year:

  • Bring gift cards to a Cowichan Spiritualist Church service on Sunday Dec 7, 14, or 21
  • Bring cash or a cheque to a Cowichan Spiritualist Church service on Sunday Dec 7, 14, or 21. Please specify that it is a donation for our Christmas charity, and indicate if you would like a tax receipt from the church (must be a donation of $10 or more).
  • Deliver gift cards, cheques, or cash to the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society at 246 Evans Street, Duncan, V9L 1P8 no later than Friday Dec 19, 2025
  • Make an online donation on the CWAV donation page and receive an emailed tax receipt from CWAV

Your generosity will be much appreciated by the families!

Angel Fund

The church has a special emergency fund available to help those in need. You do not have to be a member of the church to suggest someone, or to receive money from the Angel Fund.

Please speak to a Board member if you know of someone in need.
